Cancer Surveillance & Health Behavior Data

The goal of this service, led by Dr. Jay Fisher, is to assist OSUCCC investigators in locating, accessing, retrieving and interpreting cancer incidence, cancer mortality, cancer survival, and cancer-related population-based data. This service provides a one time, free service that virtually every OSUCCC member needs for a grant application/report: a disease specific population estimate of cancer incidence, mortality, and/or survival from local, county, state, or national data. The typical investigator, untrained in conducting such a search, can spend hours or even days trying to locate these estimates. In addition, this service can provide expanded retrieval and consultation services for population-based investigations (e.g., information concerning the potential composition of study groups with or without additional criteria such as race, ethnicity, and gender).
